(Baton Rouge – February 28, 2013) Describing today’s release of a proposed Minimum Foundation Program formula as an attempted end run around the State Constitution, Louisiana Federation of Teachers President Steve Monaghan urged lawmakers to declare it dead on arrival when the legislature convenes on April 8.
The North Dakota Public Association has joined with a coalition of 27 statewide organizations, calling for the expansion of Medicaid coverage in North Dakota, as proposed in the Governor's budget guidelines. This will provide health-care coverage to between 20,500-32,000 uninsured residents of the state, who need this assistance.

Professor Brenda Hall applied for tenure and promotion to full professor in spring of 2011. She met all standards in place and the approval of the then-provost. However, when a new provost was hired, her decision was reversed, based on numerous factual errors. NDPEA went to work, appealing the decision. This is the story of our member's fight to win the promotion she had clearly earned, and stand up for the rights of all the faculty on the campus of North Dakota State University.
