The fight for PSRPs to be paid for Inclement Weather or Other emergencies

Paraprofessionals (PSRPs) deserve to be paid for inclement weather or other emergencies. It is not anyone fault what happens in our world, but everyone deserves to be paid on those days.

Nancy Cross Joined Juneteenth Event As Well

There were many questions concerning the upcoming election that our national union has addressed. They recommended we maintain the nominations but restart the rest of the process including hiring a new election judge.

In her September New York Times column, AFT President Randi Weingarten says that going back to school has never looked like it does now. Weingarten explains that because of President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus, which has been chaotic, contradictory and inept, and the lack of federal guidance and funding, we’re seeing a patchwork of school reopening plans across the country.

Reopening Schools

Local 420 has adopted two main goals for reopening our schools.

First, to make sure that when our schools do reopen they are safe for students, staff, and the students’ families. In consultation with the St. Louis Department of Health according to CDC guidelines;Our second goal is that our students will receive quality instruction which will result in successful outcomes for them and our community.

To that end, three of our experienced Building Stewards have been appointed to the SLPS Restart School Task Force. They are:
