Baltimore City Sick Leave Bank 2020

Attention Baltimore City Employees!!!
CUB Sick Leave Bank Donations

The Baltimore City Office of the Labor Commissioner grants each CUB employee the opportunity to donate 1-day of sick leave into the Sick Leave Bank each year. As a CUB employee you will also have the opportunity to apply to use sick leave from this Sick Leave Bank in the event of an emergency.

As you are aware, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic most City offices are teleworking. Therefore, we are asking that you email your HR Department by Monday, November 9, 2020 at 3pm and acknowledge your intent to participate or to deny participation in the Sick Leave Bank.

Thanks for your prompt attention and assistance in this matter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your HR Manager via email. Please note that your Timekeeper may also ask/have you verify your sick bank donation as well.

In Solidarity,
Antoinette Ryan-Johnson
President, City Union of Baltimore

Louisiana Rejects Amendment #5

Many of the results from today's Election Day are still not known. Still, one thing is clear: hardworking taxpayers rejected constitutional Amendment #5. This is a huge victory for Louisiana's working people, particularly our schools and the students they serve.

Settlement Reached!

Following several weeks of ongoing bargaining discussion, CCEA and CCSD have reached a tentative agreement on the 2020-21 Economic package. The settlement utilizes the state’s Teacher Salary Allocation funds ($2.4million) along with additional Board funds to achieve a $46,000 minimum salary for all instructional staff, while ensuring that every instructional employee receives AT LEAST a $1,500 improvement. CCEA Support will receive .46/hour in addition to the annual step increase which has already been applied.
